Sevilla FC president José María del Nido Carrasco met with the coaching staff of the Sevilla FC Academy Antonio Puerta at the José Ramón Cisneros Palacios Training Ground. The Academy has already begun its activities for the 2026–27 season with a record level of participation, having surpassed 450 registered players.
During the meeting, the Sevilla FC president spent some time with the Academy’s coaches and staff, taking an interest in the progress of the new season and conveying his best wishes for a campaign in which the sporting and personal development of the young footballers will once again be one of the main priorities.
The Sevilla FC Academy “Antonio Puerta”, closely linked to the memory and legacy of Sevilla’s eternal No. 16, begins a new season with renewed enthusiasm and the ambition to continue growing. This season’s record participation, with more than 450 registered players, reflects the interest and confidence of families in a project that offers its students an environment for learning, personal development and sporting activity based on the values of Sevilla FC.
In addition, this week carries special emotional significance for the entire Sevilla FC Academy Antonio Puerta family. This Friday will see the 15th Antonio Puerta Trophy, an established fixture in the Sevilla FC calendar, with Aston Villa taking centre stage this year as they visit the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium to take part in the tribute.
The Antonio Puerta Trophy once again provides an opportunity to keep Antonio Puerta’s memory alive and to highlight his legacy for new generations, during a particularly meaningful week for everyone involved with the Academy.
