Sevilla FC expands its international project with the arrival of its Academy on the East Coast of the United States

Sevilla FC continues to advance its international growth strategy with the expansion of its development model in the United States. Following the consolidation of different initiatives in other parts of the country, the club is now preparing to establish its presence on the East Coast of the United States, where the new project will begin operating in summer 2027.

The initiative will bring the Sevilla FC training methodology to thousands of young footballers, offering development programs based on the model established within the club’s youth academy. The project aims to promote player development, talent identification and football education, while further expanding Sevilla FC’s international sporting presence.

The first phase of this expansion will feature official Sevilla FC Academy programs across four major metropolitan areas on the East Coast: Raleigh, Washington D.C., Philadelphia and New York. Each location will host activities focused on the development and training of young players.

The programs will be led by official Sevilla FC coaches, who will bring to the United States the principles and training methods used throughout the club’s youth development structure. This methodology has contributed to the development of top-level footballers and is represented by players such as Sergio Ramos and Jesús Navas.

Beyond the summer camps, the project will progressively expand its range of activities across the United States. Future initiatives will include programs focused on talent development, coach education and international experiences designed to help young footballers continue their development within the Sevilla FC environment.

This new stage will be made possible through the collaboration between Sevilla FC and Global Sports Development Group, the club’s strategic partner for the development of Sevilla FC Academy on the East Coast of the United States.

With this new expansion, Sevilla FC continues to extend its development model beyond Spain and strengthen its presence in one of the world’s fastest-growing football markets. This expansion will allow the club to share its values, identity and methodology with new generations of footballers across the United States.

Isaiah Lais, American talent for the Juvenil “D”

The Juvenil “D” continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the 2026/2027 season with the arrival of Isaiah Lais, a goalkeeper from Melbourne, Florida (United States), who joins the Sevilla side after his experience with the Benfica Residential Academy in Tampa and Space Coast United, from his hometown.

Lais begins this new chapter in Seville following an outstanding last season, in which he recorded 20 clean sheets and two assists, demonstrating his ability to contribute to the team both between the posts and in the build-up play.

Among his main qualities as a goalkeeper, the American particularly highlights his composure on the ball and shot-stopping ability, two aspects that he will look to continue developing within Sevilla FC’s methodology.

Speaking about his arrival at the club, Isaiah Lais is very excited about this new challenge:

“I am very happy to be part of Sevilla because I want to improve as a player and also get a feel for the Spanish methodology of playing football.” – Isaiah Lais.

With his arrival, the Juvenil “D” adds a new international profile to its squad, one who approaches his move to Seville with enthusiasm and the ambition of continuing to develop as a footballer within Sevilla FC’s academy structure.

Sevilla FC D defeats Ciudad Jardín in Amate

Sevilla FC D played their fourth pre-season friendly on September 1st against Ciudad Jardín, a team that competes in the same division as the Sevillian side. The match took place in Amate, where the team led by Óscar Olomo played as the away side.

The first half was marked by equality between both teams, with chances shared and an even tempo. Sevilla FC D had one of their clearest opportunities from a set-piece routine. Israel Bernal received the ball following a corner-kick routine, but his shot went just wide of the post.

After the break, the home side had an opportunity from a corner just a few minutes after the restart. Sevilla FC D reacted and began creating more dangerous chances, looking to take the lead.

In the 61st minute, David Castro had a good opportunity to open the scoring, but he was unable to finish the move. The Sevilla striker would get his reward in the 70th minute. Following a pass from Manu Cruzado, Castro found himself one-on-one with the home goalkeeper and finished to make it 0-1 on the scoreboard.

Just three minutes later, Sevilla FC D would strike again. Estefan Mario put Swedish player Sebastian Fineman through one-on-one with the goalkeeper, and he made no mistake to make it 0-2, which would prove to be the final score.

With this result, Sevilla FC D continue to progress in their preparations ahead of the start of the competition, adding another valuable match and positive feelings during this 2026/27 pre-season.

Juvenil D secure a convincing win over C.D. Santiponce

The Sevilla FC Juvenil D, led by Rafa Ortega, played their fourth preparation match on September 1 against C.D. Santiponce, a team competing in the same category as the Nervion side. The Sevilla team put in a strong performance and secured a 0-5 victory, showing a high level of intensity and dominance for much of the match.

The match began with a very dominant Sevilla FC, who wasted no time in reflecting their superiority on the scoreboard. In the 3rd minute, Ayala opened the scoring after a good attacking move, making it 0-1. Just six minutes later, in the 9th minute, the second goal arrived. Pedro Marun, one of the new signings for the youth team’s attack, opened his goalscoring account in a Sevilla shirt to extend the lead.

The Nervion side maintained their approach based on intense play and high pressing, constantly looking to increase their advantage. Defensively, the visiting team also showed great solidity, competing intensely for the ball and preventing C.D. Santiponce from creating danger close to the Sevilla defence.

In the 30th minute, Ayala appeared again to complete his brace. The Sevilla attacker surprised the goalkeeper with a shot from outside the box that found the back of the net. Shortly afterwards, Pedro Marun found the net again after being left in a one-on-one with the Santiponce goalkeeper, making it 0-4 before half-time.

After the break, the match became more evenly contested, although Sevilla FC continued to look for ways to extend their lead. The Sevilla side’s persistence was rewarded in the 65th minute, when Hungarian player Németh scored the fifth and final goal of the match.

In this way, the Sevilla FC Juvenil D secured a 0-5 victory over C.D. Santiponce in their fourth pre-season test. The team led by Rafa Ortega continues their preparations for the start of the competition, scheduled for September 20, as they finalise the details ahead of the beginning of the season.

Sevilla FC D captains confirmed

The captaincy of Sevilla FC D will be led this season by Borja Tellado, Fabián Rodríguez, Manuel Cruzado, Mario Rodríguez and Nacho González, five footballers who share the commitment to lead the team and convey the values that are part of Sevilla FC’s identity.

The five captains will play a fundamental role throughout the season, acting as references for their teammates and contributing to maintaining the unity, commitment and competitive spirit of the dressing room. Their responsibility will go beyond the pitch, also representing the team and the values of the club.

Borja Tellado, Fabián Rodríguez, Mario Rodríguez and Nacho González have been part of Sevilla FC D since the team’s creation, in the 2024/2025 season, under the management of Óscar Olomo. Since then, they have accompanied the team through its early stages and have contributed to its consolidation within the Sevilla FC structure.

For his part, Manuel Cruzado joined the team last season, becoming part of a group facing a new campaign with the aim of continuing to bring experience to the Sevilla side.

Regarding their origins, four of the five captains are Spanish, while Fabián Rodríguez is from Puerto Rico and is part of Sevilla FC D through the High Performance Career Program, an initiative that allows international players to integrate into the club’s structure and continue their development in a high-performance environment.

With experience within the group and a strong commitment to the team, Borja Tellado, Fabián Rodríguez, Manuel Cruzado, Mario Rodríguez and Nacho González take on the challenge of leading Sevilla FC D throughout a new season, acting as references for their teammates and ambassadors of the club’s values.
