Sevilla FC “D” wins at the start of the second half of the season
Sevilla FC “D” claimed a comprehensive win against Isbilya Balompié at the Municipal La Doctora, in a match played behind closed doors, corresponding to the opening fixture of the second half of the season. The side extended their excellent run of form, recording their fifth consecutive victory.
Sevilla FC “D” went into the match placed fifth in the standings, level on points with the fourth-ranked team, facing an Isbilya Balompié side positioned second from bottom with five points. The encounter was played without spectators and marked the start of the second half of the campaign, following the 6–0 win secured by Sevilla in the first leg.
The opening stages of the game were tight and scrappy, with both teams struggling to find fluency in their attacking play. However, in the 28th minute, Abdullah Aljirafi opened the scoring for the visitors by confidently converting a penalty.
Before the interval, the home side found an equaliser from a set-piece situation, capitalising on several rebounds from a corner kick, sending the match into half-time level on the scoreboard.
After the restart, captain Manu Cruzado restored Sevilla FC “D”’s lead with a spectacular Olympic goal in the 50th minute. From that moment on, the visiting side asserted their control and dominance, creating multiple chances in the opposition’s penalty area. Abdullah Aljirafi, delivering an outstanding individual performance, added two further goals in the 67th and 75th minutes, completing his hat-trick and extending the lead to 1–4.
In the closing stages, Fidel Morán provided the assist for Edu Mangles, who sealed the result with the final goal to make it 1–5. With this victory, Sevilla FC “D” begin the second half of the season in the best possible manner, reinforcing their strong form and competitive ambitions.
