Sevilla FC “D” and Under-19 “D” close the season at the Sánchez-Pizjuán
Players and coaching staff were joined by Pablo Blanco, Salvador Ballesta and Sevilla FC “C” player Paul Chimezie Obi at an event that brought together families and club officials to close the season.
In an emotional ceremony held on 18 May at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium, Sevilla FC “D” and Under-19 “D” drew the curtain on their respective seasons, both part of the Sevilla FC Academy High-Performance Programme. Sevilla FC “D” thus completed its second season within the High-Performance Program, consolidating an initiative that has now become fully embedded in the club’s competitive structure. Meanwhile, the Under-19 “D” wrapped up their first season in the best possible way, bringing their league champions trophy to the stadium as the crowning moment of a historic campaign.
The event was presided over by Pablo Blanco, Salvador Ballesta, Jose María Cruz, José Ramón Collado and Paul Chimezie Obi, who praised both the coaching staff and the squads, joined by family members in an atmosphere of pride and celebration at one of Spanish football’s most iconic venues.
One of the highlights of the evening was the address by Paul Chimezie Obi, Sevilla FC C player and now a professional footballer, who spoke to those present under the motto «Never Give Up». Obi recalled that just last year he himself was sitting in those very same seats, making his journey the clearest proof of the programme’s success: a real pathway from high performance to professional football.
Pablo Blanco also addressed the players alongside Salvador Ballesta, focusing on the values that have taken them to the top: commitment, discipline and the drive to always give one hundred per cent. Both sought to inspire the players to keep growing within the privileged environment that the Sevilla FC Academy provides.
To close the event, club officials recognised the work of the coaching staff with a club shirt, while individual awards were presented to both squads: the Top Scorer, the Top Assist Provider, the Season MVP, the Adopted Son Award and the award «Never Give Up». A tribute to the sporting and human values that define the identity of this programme.
The event concluded with a commemorative photograph of both squads in the stands of the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium, a perfect image to capture the spirit of an initiative that continues to spread the Sevilla FC brand worldwide and prove that talent, given the right environment, always finds its way to professional football.
